Reserves End Nduria's Streak
Friday, July 19th , 2047
For 22 straight games, Adhane Nduria tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy.
Well, the 22-year-old Bakersfield Nobles left fielder can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the Athletic Club KC Reserves. The Reserves held him hitless in 5 at-bats at KC Reserve Stadium today and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 22.
There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Nobles took the win by the score of 13-11.
"I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now."
Nduria is hitting at a .426 mark this season. His stats show no home runs, 24 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has played 43 games for the Nobles.
