Hamilton Hitless, Streak Ends at 23 Tuesday, July 16th , 2047 It just wasn't Stu Hamilton's day. The Charleston Battery took the 5-4 win today over the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, but the Cattlemen mound staff did what nobody else could -- they stopped the 23-game hitting streak of Battery second baseman Stu Hamilton. "We might have focused a bit too much on stopping Hamilton," Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Battery have other hitters and they did their job today." In his season totals Hamilton has 5 home runs and a .331 batting average. |
