SL Names Outstanding Pitcher Award Winner Wednesday, October 30th , 2047 The Mississippi Mockingbirds have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Fernando Lujino, this year's United States Silver League Outstanding Pitcher Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Lujino compiled a 14-4 record in 23 starts, tallied 162 strikeouts in 160 innings and recorded a 2.70 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .206 batting average against him. Gregory Collins of the Colorado Billy Goats finished second in voting, while Jay Newton of the Colorado Billy Goats finished third. |
