Iolana Cracks 3 HR for Dirty Reds Sunday, August 18th , 2047 Fans are still buzzing after San Mateo whipped the Toledo Stingers by the score of 11-3 today at Pacesetter Park. Kalino Iolana smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the shortstop bashed out 3 hits in 5 at-bats, had 4 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Iolana said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Iolana said. "Three is just... wow." Kalino Iolana struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Archie MacMurchy in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Ron Rouse in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off James Brandon in the 9th. This season Iolana is batting .280 with 16 home runs. He has scored 48 runs and driven in 55. |
