South Beach Sweeps PL A Championship Monday, September 9th , 2047 Sometimes the winner is the one who got the lucky bounces and the lucky calls, and sometimes the winner is just the one who played better. It was the latter case in 2047, as the South Beach Blaze topped the Walla Walla Walleye 6-4 tonight at The Ballpark on the Beach to win the PL A Championship. It was the 14th title in franchise history. "When you play for championships, you have to play better than the team in the other dugout. We did that in this series, and all year. Now we're the best team in baseball," said South Beach center fielder Derek Tyerman, who was named series MVP. The Blaze took the series 2-0. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Premier A and a 68-28 record. South Beach manager Vicente RodrÃguez grinned and nodded when asked to comment on Tyerman's words. "Derek said it best -- we played better than the other team," the skipper said.
