Year Ends for Constantino Ruíz in Caldwell Thursday, August 23rd , 2046 The doctors have spoken and Constantino Ruíz of the Caldwell Chiefs didn't like what he heard. The 22-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Ruíz sustained his season-ending injury during the Idaho Falls Chukars game yesterday at Pipers Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Caldwell medical staff reported Ruíz had radial nerve compression and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4 months. Checking out his stats for the season, Ruíz has registered 6 wins and 4 losses in 17 starts, 3.16 ERA and struck out 103 batters in 108.1 innings. |
