Caterpillars Juan Ramírez Down and Out for Year Sunday, July 28th , 2047 The doctors have spoken and Juan Ramírez of the Grand Forks Caterpillars didn't like what he heard. The 24-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Ramírez sustained his season-ending injury during the Huntington Hermit Crabs game yesterday at The Cocoon. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Grand Forks medical staff reported Ramírez had a bone spur in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4-5 months. This year Ramírez has 9 relief appearances with no saves, 3-1 season record and a 2.70 ERA. He has hurled 43.1 innings, given up 37 hits, struck out 55 and walked 16. Opposing clubs have batted .224 against the Grand Forks reliever. |
