League Issues Myers 2-Game Suspension
Saturday, June 8th , 2047
The suspension of shortstop Bernard Myers did not sit well with the Grim Reapers. Both Myers and his manager were livid at what both say is an unjustified 2-game suspension issued today by league officials. Myers was suspended for "inappropriate conduct" during a game against the Kent Comets yesterday at Fuller Park.
Myers was ejected from the game for arguing a strike call. "It's not right," he said, adding, "I didn't do anything to deserve this. Eject me, but don't suspend me."
His manager also vented his displeasure. "Arguments go on all the time, face-to-face, and there's not a suspension. To be suspended is ridiculous. That's bull."
Myers did more than just argue the call, he threw his bat at the feet of the umpire and walked off the field. That is the main reason the league suspended him.
Myers on the season is batting .200 with 1 home run. His totals include 7 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has played in 29 games.
