3A Selects Ríos August's #1 Pitcher Sunday, September 1st , 2047 Fernando Ríos of Syracuse had an award-winning August as he took home the M3L Single A Pitcher of the Month award. "He told me once people used to make fun of the way he pitches," Ríos's pitching coach told reporters. "There wasn't anybody laughing in August except for Fernando." Ríos was all business when he took the mound though, collecting a 4-2 record in 6 starts. He struck out 45 batters in 41.2 innings and kept opponents to a .245 batting average. Ríos has fashioned a 5-5 mark for the season, 2.69 ERA and thrown 83.2 innings in 12 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .229 against him. |
