Zha Sizzles -- Smokes Expos for 5 Hits
Tuesday, July 16th , 2047
The Niagara Falls Expos downed the Mancelona Torch 8-7 today at Waterfall Park, in spite of the best efforts of Mancelona center fielder Tak-keung Zha. Zha lashed the ball all over the park in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with a 5-for-7 line -- and a loss.
"I don't remember a better day batting, but it sure is disappointing to lose the game," he said to BNN reporters in the postgame interview. "A win would have made the day much sweeter."
Asked if he would adjust his strategy next time the Expos face Zha, Niagara Falls manager Dave Davis said "absolutely not."
"Our strategy was to not give him good pitches to hit," he said. "We didn't do that, and he worked us over. Thankfully, we won anyway, and next time we'll pitch to him better."
Tak-keung Zha grounded out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 7th, tripled in the 9th, walked in the 10th, singled in the 12th, singled in the 14th and singled in the 16th.
Thus far this season Zha is hitting .321 with no home runs, 23 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 72 hits in 224 at-bats and has played in 58 games.
