Zhan Shines in 7-2 Montana Win
|
The Montana Pandas knocked off the Toledo Stingers, 7-2, at Pacesetter Park. Dao-zi Zhan was a big reason Montana won. The third baseman was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Roman Phansalker earned the win for Montana. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 8-6. The losses continue to mount for Toledo, which has now dropped 7 in a row.
With Montana leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Zhan hit a cutter from Josh Gentry for a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Pandas ahead, 3-0.
Zhan said his team "played with focus."
