Elite Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Billy Goats
The Detroit Elite picked up a win at Grazing Hills, taking down the Colorado Billy Goats, 5-2. Starting pitcher Joel Lewis was a big reason why. Lewis went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 10-6. Detroit is now 43-43, while Colorado is 46-40.

The Billy Goats had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Elite going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old third baseman Bang-xao Li came to the plate. Li hit a 2-run double on a first pitch sinker from Colorado hurler Tommaso Cugnoni. It was Li's 12th double of the year.

"Joel was throwing free and easy," said Detroit manager Dustin Hewitt.
