Hernández Stars for Dirty Reds in 7-3 Win
|
San Mateo center fielder Ricardo Hernández played a vital role in his team's 7-3 triumph over Pittsburgh. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for San Mateo. Justin Frederick, credited with the win, is now 5-2. He allowed no runs on no hits. San Mateo has now won 5 straight.
Hernández came through with some timely hitting for San Mateo. With Pittsburgh trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the sixth, Hernández hit a first pitch sinker for a grand slam home run. His 17th home run of the season made it 4-3, San Mateo.
"We take it day by day here," said Hernández, "and today was a good one for us."
