Dirty Reds Drop Divided, 3-2
|
The San Mateo Dirty Reds topped the D.C. Divided, 3-2, in United States Silver League action at Washington Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of San Mateo pitcher Sylvain Richard. Justin Frederick closed it out for his 9th save. With the victory, the Dirty Reds record now stands at 38-30.
The Divided had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Dirty Reds going into the top of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old center fielder Ricardo Hernández came to the plate. Hernández hit a 2-run home run on a 3-1 fastball from D.C. hurler Bill Slaughter. It was Hernández's 15th home run of the year.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Hernández told the San Mateo Today.
