Bullets Lose Late, 3-1
|
The Baltimore Bullets got a superb performance from pitcher Paul Haines. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Echo Park. The Lakers won the game, 3-1. Haines threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Reliever Ales Kretky picked up the win. His record improves to 3-5. Carroll Kelly took the loss. Amberlan Romubio recorded the save, his 15th.
Echo Park used the timely hitting of Joe Mueller to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Lakers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Echo Park manager Jordan Calhoun.
Echo Park, at 33-34, holds down 6th place in the Silver League.
