The Athletic Club KC moved to within one game of the Round 4 today, downing the visiting Boston Patriots at Athletics Park by a score of 6-1. Athletic Club KC right-hander Alton Westrich had a strong outing in which he threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Athletic Club KC a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 Tournament of Champions.

Westrich, a native of Los Angeles, California, was dealing all game. He kept Boston hitters off-balance, while giving the Athletic Club KC 7.2 quality innings. Westrich threw 115 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 12.

"I got everyone together and told them they did great today," Athletic Club KC manager Andy Mayfield told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the Tournament of Champions, it's only going to get harder."

The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 18th , 2047 at Dunkin Donuts Park in Boston.
