Road Win Lifts Plattsburgh to 1-0 Lead in R1
With starter Mark Hodge leading the charge, the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish defeated the Bompton Baby Lakers, 6-3, in Game 1 of the SL R Championship today. The left-hander threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball at Field of the Browns to help Plattsburgh take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series.

Paolo Roelands provided a timely hit. The Plattsburgh left fielder delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Puffer Fish on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"I liked his command," said Plattsburgh manager John Sirica. "Mark was throwing strikes."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Field of the Browns in Compton.
