Middleton Handcuffs Hermit Crabs, Gallos Seize 1-0 Advantage in R1

The Delmarva Gallos powered past the hometown Huntington Hermit Crabs, 3-1, in the opener of the SL A Championship at The Shell today. Delmarva starting pitcher Walt Middleton threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Gallos now lead the series 1-0.
Keith Atkins, the 20-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Atkins contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Delmarva up, 3-0.
"Every loss stings," said Huntington manager Mike Evans. "This one is no exception."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Shell in Huntington.
