Road Win Lifts Mancelona to 1-0 Lead in R1
|
The Mancelona Torch powered past the hometown Kent Comets, 7-3, in the opener of the 3L A Championship at Fuller Park today. Mancelona starting pitcher Jorge Cestero threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball, to lead the charge. The Torch now lead the series 1-0.
Cestero, a native of Mazatenango, Guatemala, was dealing all game. He kept Kent hitters off-balance, while giving the Torch 6.2 quality innings. Cestero threw 72 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 4.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Cestero.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fuller Park in Kent.
