Mockingbirds Win Streak Reaches 8
|
Noud Taaij never let the Dirty Reds get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his forkball, to pitch the Mockingbirds to a win, 3-1. The winning pitcher was Taaij, now 2-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. The first-place Mockingbirds have won 8 straight.
Kameron Guangorena, who finished 4th in the SL in extra base hits with 50 in 2037, helped out the Mississippi cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 4 with a double.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Taaij said.
