Lakers Lose to Bullets, 5-4
|
The Baltimore Bullets knocked off the Echo Park Lakers, 5-4, at Baltimore Grounds. Jorge Rocha was a big reason Baltimore won. The center fielder went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Li-chi Lou, now 4-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Baltimore has now won 3 in a row.
The Bullets got a big boost from pinch hitter Johan Kroening who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning off Lakers hurler John Gaudet. It was his 12th RBI of the season and put Baltimore on top, 4-3.
"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Kroening. "I think we showed that here."
