A good performance from first baseman Glen Ackland helped the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople defeat the Franklin Fire, 5-4. Ackland was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Snowpeople. Ellesmere Island now has a 3-game win streak.
Ackland put Ellesmere Island up, 5-1, when he hit a 2-run home run off Sergio Lugo in the bottom of the fifth. His 10th home run of the season helped the Snowpeople capture the win.
