Puffer Fish Walk It Off for 54th Win of Season
|
Despite a great performance by Capital Hill second baseman Luis Durán, the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish defeated the Interns by the score of 7-6 at Plattsburgh Park. Durán was 3-5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Plattsburgh reliever Shuji Ando picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Ramón Mendoza shouldered the loss. Plattsburgh is now riding a 4-game win streak.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Plattsburgh center fielder Paolo Roelands, facing Ramón Mendoza, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Puffer Fish the 7-6 win.
"This place sure got loud," said John Sirica, the Plattsburgh manager.
