Beavers Deal Trash Pandas 5-2 Loss
|
Northwest Territory and Watford City duked it out and the Beavers came out victorious.
Northwest Territory Beavers starter Gerardo Tobías turned in an exceptional performance against the Watford City Trash Pandas at Trash Panda Field, resulting in a Northwest Territory win, 5-2. In 7.1 innings, Tobías surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Javier Cuesta got credit for the save for Northwest Territory. It was his 15th of the year.
Northwest Territory relied on the hitting of Todd James to pick up the win. The third baseman ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Beavers on top, 1-0. For the game, James had 1 triple and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"Gerardo -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Beavers manager Jeremy Dennis. "He was the key to us winning."
The Beavers go to 33-53 with the win.
