3-2 Loss Extends Franklin Losing Streak
|
Led by Yin-reng Loong, the Ballard Beavers defeated the Franklin Fire, 3-2. Loong went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Beavers. The winner was Kevin Rietmulder, who threw 121 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits. The save was credited to Jesús Rivera, his 6th.
Loong contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Ballard in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Loong took a cutter from Peter Boxsell and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Beavers to leap in front, 3-1.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Franklin manager Rafael Villalobos.
The Fire have now dropped 15 straight.
