The Shady Side Zoomies had to overcome a fine effort from Capital Hill pitcher Eugene Porter to grab a narrow 5-4 win at Alouettes Ballpark. Porter went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Shady Side reliever James Allingham picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Dave Crawford was saddled with the loss. Martin Lumley collected his 4th save.

Shady Side used the timely hitting of Albert Coleman to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Zoomies on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Coleman said.

The Interns, at 26-47, have lost 9 in a row.
