Baby Lakers Earn 4-2 Win Against Zoomies
|
Bompton turned a good effort from starter Carlos Cintrón into a win over the Shady Side Zoomies at Terriers Ballpark. The final score was 4-2. Rizal Barerra earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-1. The first-place Baby Lakers have won 4 in a row.
The outcome might have been different for Bompton, had it not been for John Knowles, the 21-year old right fielder . Knowles stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 11th inning to put Bompton up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Bompton manager Pat Carrasco.
