Beavers Lose Again, 7-1, to Baby Lakers
|
The first-place Bompton Baby Lakers picked up another win.
Bompton center fielder Jon Griffin was a significant contributor in his team's 7-1 triumph over the Northwest Territory Beavers. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for Bompton. George Hensley was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Lee Fortescue closed it out for his 3rd save.
Griffin came through for the Baby Lakers in the bottom of the second inning. With Bompton leading 2-1, the center fielder grounded out, driving in 1 run. It made the score 3-1, Bompton.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Jeremy Dennis. "But it's got to translate into wins."
The losses continue to mount for Northwest Territory, which has now dropped 9 in a row.
