Baby Lakers Prevail, 4-3, Over Quebec City
|
The Bompton Baby Lakers faced a tough opponent in Quebec City pitcher Silvian Esser, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Field of the Browns by a final score of 4-3. Esser went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Lee Fortescue, now 2-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. Rizal Barerra picked up the save for Bompton, his 5th of the year.
In the bottom of the seventh, Bompton center fielder Jon Griffin hit a run-scoring single to center field. The clutch hit made it, 4-3, Baby Lakers.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Bompton manager Pat Carrasco.
Bompton has now won 6 straight.
