Field of the Browns was the site of a competitive game between the Bompton Baby Lakers and Memphis Music.

John Carson never let Bompton get something going. The Memphis left-hander commanded his curveball in pitching the Music to a 3-1 win. Carson, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Pino Bragaghio recorded his 1st save for Memphis.

Memphis used the bat of Ed Bowen to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Music ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Bowen said.

The third-place Music improved to 17-9.
