Beaumont picked up a win at The Target, bumping off the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, 8-4. Pitcher Alfie Brotherton was a major reason the Crossbeaus emerged victorious. The winner in relief was Edgar García. He is now 2-0. The right-hander allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in 3 innings. Alfie Brotherton locked down his 1st save.

Roberto Pérez made an early impact for Beaumont when he stroked his 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came with one out in the bottom of the first, put the Crossbeaus on top, 4-0.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Brotherton said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

Beaumont, now 9-6, has gotten their season off to a good start.
