Coeur Sink Lighthouse, 10-5
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The St. Louis Coeur beat the Long Island Lighthouse, 10-5, at The BFIB. The win was due in part to shortstop Kane Felton, who was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Valentin Calhamar got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 2. The save went to Branlyn Jaraba, his 1st this season.
Felton contributed in the bottom of the second. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped St. Louis get the win.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Felton told the St. Louis Gazette.
The win gives the Coeur a record of 2-0.
