Ogallala Octopi starter Hemolekekeakua Makaalohi pitched a strong game against the Germantown Uruguayans at Nebraska Aquarium, leading the Octopi to victory, 7-6. Makaalohi went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 3-4. Earning his 5th save of the year was Jimmy Morales.

A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Octopi sent 21-year-old second baseman George Jones to the plate with a runner on 3rd. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a sacrifice fly, to put Ogallala on top, 7-1.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Jones told the Ogallala Daily.

The Uruguayans, now 12-67, have lost 5 in a row.
