Crossbeaus Lose to Baby Lakers in Walk Off
Beaumont got a terrific performance from pitcher Douggie Westcott, but it wasn't enough to beat the Bompton Baby Lakers. Bompton won the Field of the Browns contest, 4-3. Westcott threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Bompton reliever Carlos Cintrón picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Alex Thompson shouldered the loss. Beaumont drops to 5-2.

Oscar McGill was the walk-off hero for Bompton. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Baby Lakers shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

Beaumont manager Steve Ferguson said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
