The Redwood Rhinos topped the Ogallala Octopi, 8-4, with youngster Jorge Rodríguez playing a key role. Rodríguez hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Rhinos in the win. Redwood reliever Hae-young Kim picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Hemolekekeakua Makaalohi absorbed the loss. Pablo Morales was credited with the save for Redwood, his 5th of the season.

With Redwood leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Rodríguez hit a fastball from Hemolekekeakua Makaalohi for a 3-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Rhinos ahead, 5-0.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Rodríguez.

The 5th-place Octopi have lost 4 consecutive games.
