Baby Blues Defeat Crossbeaus, 3-2
|
Crowds lined up early in front of The Target, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2047 USSL Rookie season. On the mound was Johnny Bowling for the visiting Quebec City Baby Blues and Aurelio Reyes for the hometown Beaumont Crossbeaus. In a spirited contest, the Baby Blues pulled out the win, defeating the Crossbeaus by the score of 3-2. Especially impressive was Aurelio Reyes. Reliever Rick Drake picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Alex Thompson took the loss.
Quebec City needed the clutch hitting of Elliot Banks to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Baby Blues on top, 3-2. For the game, Banks had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Banks said after the game.
