Steve Covington made an impact in the 6-2 Myrtle Beach win over South Beach. Covington, who is tied for 3rd in the PA with a .376 on-base percentage, was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Tony Wilson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. José Zamora was tagged with the loss. With the win, Myrtle Beach pushed its record to 44-41.

Héctor García went 1 for 4 against the Blaze. In the bottom of the first inning, he reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 2 runs, putting Myrtle Beach in front, 2-0.
