Chukars Sneak By Walleye, 3-2
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars took Walla Walla pitcher Frank Baldwin's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Idaho Falls Park. The final score had Idaho Falls getting past the Walleye, 3-2. Baldwin went 8.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 6. Idaho Falls reliever Shinsui Kawaguchi picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Michael Kilshaw was saddled with the loss. Idaho Falls, at 38-43, holds down 6th place in the Premier A.
The Chukars relied on pinch hitter Nherbert Imperial for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the ninth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring double to seal the deal.
"This place was rocking at the end," Imperial said.
