Walleye Topple Chukars, 5-4
|
Walla Walla beat Idaho Falls at Idaho Falls Park, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to center fielder Rob Ott. He was 3-5 with a triple and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Todd Wallace notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Harry Richter earned the save, his 19th.
With Walla Walla leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Ott hit a changeup from Pepe Montoya for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 9th triple of the season and put the Walleye ahead, 4-0.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Walla Walla manager Eddie O'Bryan. "It's usually not just one thing."
Walla Walla is second in the Premier A with a record of 46-33.
