Rhinos Run Win Streak to 6
|
The Redwood Rhinos picked up a win at The Zoo, knocking off the Greenport Harbor Whales, 4-0. On the mound for Redwood was left-hander Bill Richardson, who played a pivotal role in the win. Richardson, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Redwood has an impressive 14-6 record.
Tied up with the Harbor Whales in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Rhinos got a boost from first baseman George Noble. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Noble saw a 2-0 fastball from Miguel González and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Redwood on top, 2-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Redwood skipper Dave Parrish.
