Centennial Come Up Short at Redwood, 1-0
|
The Redwood Rhinos picked up a win at The Zoo, taking down the Fort Knox Centennial, 1-0. Starting pitcher Roberto Palomina was a big reason why. The win gives Redwood a record of 4-3.
The Centennial had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Rhinos going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old left fielder Jorge Rodríguez came to the plate. Rodríguez hit a solo home run on a 1-2 changeup from Fort Knox hurler Jorge Enríquez. It was Rodríguez's 2nd home run of the year.
Rodríguez called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
