|
Levittown Blue Dragons starter Li-zhi Lai pitched a strong game against the Caldwell Chiefs at The Cave at Levittown, leading the Blue Dragons to victory, 4-2. Lai, now 2-6, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Rodger Asmus sewed up the save, his 14th.
Robert Rodríguez hit a 2-run double off Constantino Ruíz in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Blue Dragons in front, 4-2. In addition to the double, Rodríguez had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Lai. "Successful pitchers do it."
The Blue Dragons go to 22-38 with the win.
