Tight Tilt Goes to Hobeaus, 3-2
|
Smoky Mountain starter Adrian Griffith pitched well against the Huntington Hermit Crabs at Smokies Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Griffith went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 6-5. The Hobeaus saw their win-loss record go to 39-54. At the same time, the Hermit Crabs fell to 66-27.
Having an impact for Smoky Mountain was Reynaldo Juárez. In the bottom of the fourth inning, the 23-year old center fielder had a run-scoring ground out to make the score 3-0, Hobeaus.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Smoky Mountain skipper Hiroji Nakagawa.
