Godfathers Snag 5-2 Win
|
Pontiac and Washington duked it out and the Godfathers came out victorious.
The Pontiac Godfathers took Washington pitcher Brian Campbell's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Pontiac Copperdome. The final score had Pontiac getting past the Generals, 5-2. Campbell went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 5. Pontiac now sits in 7th place in the Silver A at 35-47.
Pontiac took a 5-2 lead on Zachary Spilsbury's 6th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Spilsbury hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Washington pitcher Marcos Toro visibly frustrated.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Spilsbury.
