A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Laredo Hawks and Washington Generals.

Laredo starter Kevin Horton pitched well against the Washington Generals at Hawks Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-3. Horton went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 4-3.

Calvin Chappell hit a 2-run home run off Tony Nelson in the bottom of the first, which put the Hawks ahead, 2-0. In addition to the homer, Chappell had 1 double, while going 2 for 5.
