Huntington rode a decent outing from starter Albert Surtees to victory over the Yucca Valley Yellows. The final score was 5-3. Surtees went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 7-6. Eisaku Ishikawa was called on to finish, recording his 21st save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Arhippa Rintala? The Huntington designated hitter had a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Hermit Crabs on top, 4-2. For the game, Rintala had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
