Godfathers Sneak Past Commodores, 3-2
|
Put-In-Bay Ballpark was the site of a competitive game between the Put-In-Bay Commodores and Pontiac Godfathers.
The Pontiac Godfathers had to overcome a fine performance from Put-In-Bay pitcher Mario Ledezma to grab a 3-2 win at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Ledezma allowed no runs over 5.2 innings. Pontiac pitcher Mike Morris got the win, upping his record to 2-3. Bernardo Hernández got the loss. Cristo Sánchez earned the save for Pontiac, his 4th of the year.
It could have been a different outcome for Pontiac, had it not been for Araz Guliyev, the 23-year old shortstop . Guliyev contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Pontiac up, 3-2.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Guliyev said.
The current losing streak for Put-In-Bay has reached 5 games.
