Walleye Deal Vandals 6-1 Setback
|
Walla Walla got a strong outing from Frank Baldwin as the Walleye defeated the Eugene Vandals, 6-1, at Walleye Tank. Picking up the save was Harry Richter, his 5th. The third-place Walleye sport a record of 17-14.
The Walleye got a big at-bat from catcher Alfredo Bermúdes. For the game, Bermúdes was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Walla Walla a 3-1 lead.
"I liked his command," said Walla Walla manager Eddie O'Bryan. "Frank was throwing strikes."
