Delmarva pitcher Thomas Rice gave the Godfathers all they could handle, but in the end, Pontiac left Pontiac Copperdome with a win, 2-1. Rice allowed 2 runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings. Connor Beresford, now 4-1, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The save was credited to Cristo Sánchez, his 3rd.

The Godfathers got an important contribution from right fielder Christian Harris, who in the bottom of the third knocked a 2-2 sinker into left for a run-scoring double. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Godfathers ahead, 2-0.
