Seahawks Nip Blue Dragons, 1-0
|
In a low-scoring contest, Myrtle Beach pitcher Valentín Jiménez was marvelous in his team's 1-0 win. The Blue Dragons, at 8-12, have lost 5 straight games.
Myrtle Beach used the timely hitting of Joshua Sheppard to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Seahawks on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Valentín was throwing free and easy," said Myrtle Beach manager Omer van Osch.
